Path to Greatness

What is this game?

Path to Greatness is a 3D platformer that focuses on fun, parkour-like movement mechanics. Ascend great skyscrapers, hopscotch across planes, and find creative ways to swiftly reach your objective. It's all about making traversal from point A to point B as fun as it can be!

It is currently being developed by just me, Justin Patterson, but I'm hoping to recruit some folks soon to help work on the game.

The demo is a playground, the full game is a journey

The demo showcases the movement mechanics in a small open-world level with collectables. It is a good demonstration of what the full game will provide. However, in the full game there will be many different themed levels. Objectives in the levels will include finding and collecting hard-to-reach items, completing obstacle courses, and completing them under a certain time. By completing these objectives, you will then unlock new levels. The progression system can be easily compared to Super Mario 64's progression system. So to sum it up, the full game will be the demo, but with much more content, and a way to progress through the game.

What's left to do?

A lot of level design work is still needed. I had hoped to finish Path to Greatness much sooner, but I greatly underestimated how much work it is to create levels, and some unforeseen personal challenges slowed me a bit. Any donations from you awesome people will not only help me keep the lights on, but I will also be looking to hire a level designer to help build our parkourlicious world. I want to give these movement mechanics the levels they deserve. It will be done right, and it will be spectacular!
